2021 and 2022 carbon emission data for Symetra were calculated by independent third-party company Point B, and verified by independent third-party company Keramida. Symetra purchased carbon offset credits equivalent to the emissions data calculated by Point B and verified by Keramida, in furtherance to our goal of being carbon neutral across business operations.
1 This report and the data and information herein refers collectively to Symetra Financial Corporation and its downstream subsidiaries (“Symetra”).
Symetra launched an optional sustainability platform for employees to voluntarily track and self-report their personal sustainability activities. The associated employee self-reported carbon reductions are not counted in Symetra's emissions calculations in any manner. The platform is simply a tool that Symetra made available to employees to encourage them to consider reducing their personal/non-employment related carbon footprint.
